Hi

I am wondering if anyone can help me with my great uncles medal card.
I was wondering what medals he was entitled.
I think he may not have received them as on the medal card it stated "supposed suicide".
would the army have looked on this as dishonourable?
He was also a p.o.w in Belgium, and released in a prisoner exchange.

I have attached a copy of his medal card.

regards

Richard.

Hi Richard

For his medal entitlement he was entitled to the following
1914 star and clasp
British war medal
Victory medal
- see - http://www.1914-1918.net/grandad/themedals.htm
here is how to understand the MIC - http://www.1914-1918.net/grandad/mic.htm
and the roll it refers to - http://www.1914-1918.net/grandad/medals.htm

There is no where on the card that says that the medals were forfeit or not delivered to his next of kin , so I presume they would have got them.

As for him being a POW , read this - http://www.1914-1918.net/grandad/pow.htm

If you need more explanations on the card just ask

regards

Robert
